Repackaging the Holiday Season:
Three tips on How to Make the
Last Month of the Calendar
Work for You
What is the winter holiday season like for you?
In the five or six weeks leading up to Christmas,
as lights begin their blinkering dance and retailers ramp up the volume on their efforts to wring the most out of our giving hands – it can begin to feel as if we ourselves are bit-players in one huge advertisement.
What is the advertisement for?  More importantly, when it’s all said and done does anyone feel like they got their part right?
In their efforts to encourage and cash in on the holiday spirit, merchandisers may pull out all the stops - but they do this by invoking our desire for connection and holiday cheer.  Are they the only ones to blame for the commercialization of the season?  Ultimately, they only make the space.  We are the ones who plant the dreams.
Does the season work for you as it is?  If you could wave a magic wand, what, if anything,  would you want to change?  Big and small shop-keepers do their part by keeping windows aglow.  But it’s on us to figure out how to keep their part from overwhelming ours.
For an opportunity to engage with others in a discussion about the holiday season and hear three tips on how to make its blinkering lights wink for you, join us on the 29th.  The conversation is open to all.
